When my breadmaker stopped being able to knead, I opened it up, found the belt was loose, and ordered this replacement. Now it kneads again.
Outstanding. Item restored breadmaker which made me very happy. Need a part?? use these people..

The maker of this bread machine did not supply the kneading attachment with the order. When I contacted them (and their numerous affiliates), they responded that they no longer made the replacement product…discontinued. I was also given the runaround from one affiliate to another.
I would have to return it. Right there, that doesn’t make any sense at all. No one from the company responded by name when dealing with them, just a generic email. I had to send the first one back, only to find that the second one also did not have the kneading attachment. No sense of being sorry from the company at all. Totally unprofessional. I will be looking out for items sold by Salton and its affiliates, and never buying from them again. I encourage everyone else to do the same.
I bought this bread machine on May 15, 2009 online here at Amazon.com. I went with the free shipping so I received it about 10 days later. The product arrived with a 1.5 inch scratch on the front of the unit, but it didn’t affect the function of the unit so I was passive about paying full price for a damaged unit. It didn’t seem worth the hassle.
I used the bread machine about weekly and made bread and dough for pizza and cinnamon rolls. It worked nicely, but I found it difficult to neatly cut the bread in the loaf pan included in the bread machine so I switched to using it to prepare the dough and then I would take it out and allow it to rise the final time in a loaf pan and then I cooked it in the oven. The size of a regular loaf pan is much easier to cut nicely.
Unfortunately this past weekend (June 27) this bread machine stopped working. I tried different outlets and giving it time to recoup between trying to use it. Amazon.com reported it was past the time of my return window (it ended June 22) so I was stuck dealing with the company on the bread machine.
I called Breadman (ACP) today and they don’t have this model, but have a similar model on BACKORDER that I they will send me. What I have to do is write a letter and include the cord from the bread machine. They said to cut it right off. Then I need to ship through a “trackable” method. When asked to define what trackable meant and what they wanted me to do with it, they said that confirmation of delivery was fine. They do not send you a no postage paid address slip. I have to be inconvenienced and pay for shipping. And wait for a product that is similar to the one I purchased that is on BACKORDER. Then they told me I had to pay for the shipping of the new product coming to me….. after explaining how unfair this was (and in my head knowing it will take forever for them to process the cord and letter I send them and put my name on the back order list and finally send me a replacement) they finally gave in and waived the shipping charges for the new product.
Happy when it worked, even though it came with a scratch. Very unhappy with the process that ensues when it stopped working.
I bought the Breadman TR875 back in December of 2008 and one word describes this device: Wow!
I have made most of the recipes in the manual and a lot from recipes I found online. All have been great. There have been a couple that have not risen properly but those were store bought bread machine brands.
I have mostly made the 1.5 lb sizes as sometimes the 2 lb loaves rise too high and touch the viewing window. Also 2 lb is a lot of bread and bread machine loaves are best eaten within 1 - 2 days.
Sometimes the paddle comes off and is stuck inside the completed baked bread but usually it stays on. It’s all in how you shake the bread out when it’s done I think.
The outside of the Breadman is not hot at all so it can go against backsplashes. One thing I did not know was to separate the salt and suger that is added to the breadpan. None of the recipes in the manual mention this so be sure to add the liquids first, then the flour, and THEN the salt and suger (if needed) to opposite sides of the breadpan.
All in all, this is a great device and I can honestly say I have not bought ANY store bread brands since I have had this. I did an Excel spreadsheet listing the bread I would have bought from November to June and offset the flour and bread supplies that I bought, I saved over $200 in that eight month period.
This came in the mail and I forgot that I bought it. I was dedicated deciple of the Atkin’s meat fetish. Bread can be used for so many dishes that I didn’t know of. It even makes croutons if you cut up the bread and bake the little pieces in your conventional oven. I wake up every morning to the pleasant sounds of my husband pouring all of the ingredients in. Now I know what they were talking about when they said “Loaves and Fishes” except i don’t like adding fish to the dough. LOL. anyway… this IS an exceptional bread machine; and I’m grateful that I bought it.
My brother gave me a Breadman for Christmas years ago. When it finally gave up the ghost after years of intensive use, I decided to replace with another Breadman. What a mistake!
It worked allright for about the first 3-4 uses, after which I decided to send in my registration info (I always like to make sure I’m going to keep the product first).
Shortly after that, I began hearing a dreadful grinding noise on the knead cycle! Many emails and calls back and forth to “customer care” have resolved nothing. There is no service center in my area, the date code on the machine renders it out of warranty, I can’t find the original receipt, and they won’t tell me, from my registration info, where I bought it (which would help me locate the receipt).
Yeah, maybe my filing system sucks, but I would at least expect a more courteous response than, “We can’t locate your registration info, but you can buy the latest model for $140.”
Will definitely be looking for a different model next time!
Our old bread machine finally gave up, and we were very sad since we enjoyed the bread made from it so much. When we found this one, we were skeptical, but it has far surpassed our old one. It’s easy to use and makes great bread. Couldn’t ask for a better one, in my opinion.
Wanted a bread machine and didn’t have $200 to spend on one. Bought this machine, before reading reviews. Followed booklet directions to the letter and had disaster after disaster. Loaves falling during baking and crust tough as shoe leather. Was ready to give up. Went on recipe sites for advice and tried using vital wheat gluten, added to recipes and recipes from famous cooking sites. Have been making great bread ever since! I don’t use the booklet that came with machine anymore. Do add ingredients in the order the maker recommends. Also bought a bread machine cookbook and have good results with it. So, keep trying with different recipes and internet sites for good advice. Good, reasonably priced machine, bad recipes.
From the several attempts we did, the loaf either came out not fully cooked, or looking like a brick with a very hard crust.
We’ve owned ours for about 4 months now, and we like it. It’s not the most expensive bread machine, but it’s easy to use and has a simple interface. If you need a simple machine that is able to do a decent variety of breads, this should work fine.
The machine itself seems to be decent construction. The outside is plastic, and the bread compartment is metal, with a heating element. It cleans up easily, inside and out. Just be careful not to bend or otherwise damage the heating element. The lid’s hinge is fairly loose. This isn’t a problem as far as making bread is concerned, but I wish it felt a little more secure.
No complaints about the bread. Our loaves collapse a bit, but they come out nice and soft, and everybody loves eating it. The loaves have thus far never stuck to the pan. This machine does use a paddle at the bottom of the pan that comes away inside the loaf, so your bread will have a hole in the bottom. Some people don’t like this. Me, I don’t care–it’s going to be eaten anyway.
We have two adults and three kids in our family. A single loaf is typically enough to feed everyone for breakfast, along with some fruit and milk.
The manual that came with the machine was rather cheap. You’d expect a manual that comes with a kitchen appliance–especially one that contains recipes and will therefore be around flour, water, oil, etc.– to be made to withstand a kitchen environment. Not the case here. Fortunately, you can download a new copy from the manufacturer’s web site if your manual gets ruined.
Thus far I have only two complaints about the machine. The first is that it is rather noisy. Having no prior experience with bread machines I don’t know if this is normal or not. It’s loud enough that when it makes bread early in the morning (to have it ready for breakfast) it is sometimes a disturbance.
My second complaint is that the bread pan never feels like it’s secured in place. I insert it as far as it will go, but it doesn’t take much force to remove it, and the pan is able to move around when it’s in place. This may be by design; I don’t know. At any rate, the pan has never popped out while making a loaf.
All in all, we’re pleased with it and enjoy using it.
I really enjoy this breadmaker. I have been able to use it for making gluten free breads without any problems thus far. I would recommned this bread maker to anyone.
I never got what I ordered. Not the fault of Buy It Now. I tried to contact the company directly and they never got back to me. I wonder if they are even still in business…
Delivered within a few days of purchase. Can’t wait to start baking bread again!
It works - As advertised - Quick Ship - Recommend to all - Thank You!
I bought one of these, despite a few reservations based on the reviews, because I figured it was cheap and I could always return it if it didn’t work. Which it didn’t.
Actually, it worked for about two weeks. During that time I used it five times. During the fifth time, I noticed that the digital display had gone blank, even though there was still an hour to go in the cycle. The machine had died. It had mixed the bread and, apparently, kneaded it the second time, and then given up the ghost. The dough had risen to the very top of the pan, but it wasn’t going to get baked in there. I took it out and popped it into a loaf pan, let it rise a little more, and baked it in my oven. It turned out fine.
The machine, though, was beyond saving. Nothing I did could revive it. (And I did check to make sure the outlet was working.) So I’m returning it. Fortunately, Amazon’s return system seems to be pretty good. No hassle so far, anyway.
So I would advise against buying this machine. It’s too cheap. The quality is poor. Those other reviewers who complained about the shape of the loaf and the way the top caves in were right. The design of the pan seems wrong.
I’m giving it one star only because you can’t give zero. (I tried to.)
If I decide to get another machine, I’ll probably go back to the Breadman–I had one that worked great for eight years. Today I made a loaf of bread using my Kitchenaid mixer and my oven, though, and it was easy and fun. Maybe I’ll stick with that. Make up a big batch of dough on the weekends and stick it in the fridge. [...]
I had been baking bread from scratch prior to this purchase, but didn’t want to spend over $200 for a bread machine. So after having bought a bread machine at a local thriftstore that had to be returned because it didn’t work once home, I decided to try the Sunbeam. The reviews seemed pretty good, and it’s affordable. But now that I’ve tried it, I have to agree with the person who wrote the second review and am also amazed that we both seem to be the exception. I have tried every combination I could possibly think of, including making loaves with both active dry yeast and quick yeast; breadmachine flour and regular flour; adding even gluten flour and baking soda. Still, every single loaf has fallen at least 3″. Also, the manual states that if one wants to turn off the default instant bread warmer feature, to hold in the start/stop button until it beeps. This feature doesn’t work on my machine.
On the positive side, the loaves are tasty and the texture is nice. But we probably won’t keep it. I guess it’s true; you get what you pay for.
I absolutely love this breadmaker. I make bread at least twice a week. It is so simple to use. Some reviewers say the lcd readout is hard to see, but I did not find this to be the case. It truly takes less than 3 minutes to get your ingredients into the machine and start it. Cleanup couldnt be easier. I cannot say enough good about this machine!
I personally use it more to make rolls than to make loaf bread. From start to finish, it only takes about an hour to have hot fresh rolls. I put my ingredients into the machine, set it to “8″– the dough setting–and after it stops kneeding, it only takes about 15 minutes for the dough to rise in the machine, then i remove it onto my oiled baking/cookie sheet, punch the dough down, form the rolls, cover with a cloth, let rise for about 15 more minutes, then bake for about 12 minutes and they are done!
My recipe is:
Put 1 1/4 cups warm water, 2T olive oil, 2T honey into breakmaking pan.
Add 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour, 1/4 + 1/3 cups old fashioned oatmeal, 1 1/4t salt, 4t wheat gluten, 2T dried milk, 2 1/4t quick yeast (or 1 pk quick yeast).
Bake 12 minutes at 375.
This recipe is just perfect. After the rolls come out of the oven, remove them immediately from the pan. Let sit about 10 minutes, then you can put them into a freezer bag and freeze them. I use them as needed. You can let them thaw at room temp, or pop them in the microwave for about 30 sec to defrost them. Always taste freshly baked.
