the breadman bread maker Information
My last Breadman was a vertical, much better. On second use It stopped kneading. The nut came off from the pulley. When advising Breadman They seamed not to care. For the price you expect better quality.

Making bread in this machine was even easier than I thought. As a baking neophyte, I purchased this girl thinking that it would provoke a curiosity within me to pursue baking other concoctions. It’s had the opposite effect. I feel like a first class passenger peacefully resting while my pilot delivers me to my vacation playground. All I had to do was check in, walk through the terminal and conform to my seat. Assuming that you can properly measure ingredients and read an instruction manual, I don’t see how this machine will disappoint. Since purchasing this last month we have cranked out 10 loaves, 3 pizza crusts and it has consistently performed flawlessy each time. Only improvement that I would urge, would be to make the bread pan longer than what is provided. If your aim is for easy, no-fuss baking then buy yourself one of these.
I’ve owned this machine for 2 years, and it’s always worked great. My bread comes out nicely every time. The instruction booklet provides an incredible amount of bread recipes, so if you just want to follow a recipe and get bread, the book is fantastically helpful. The recipes towards the back cater towards people with food alergies. If you want to experiment, look at R. Vancamp’s recommendations. I’ve made some phenomenal loafs of bread by adding in different breakfast cerials. It’s generally easy to clean by simply rinsing it out (with 1 exception; see below), most of the recipes are spot on, and it doesn’t walk across your counter while making your bread.
Of the minor complaints that I could come up with, the first unit that was sent to me broke when I received it; I plugged it in once, decided to move it somewhere else, and then plugged it in a second time - then it shorted & broke; I was fussing with the plug a bit reaching around the corner, so I likely had an intermittent connection or two while plugging it in that zapped the machine. I sent it back to the manufacturer, and they sent me back a fixed one. I’ve plugged it in and out many times since, without ever having the problem again, so it’s likely a fluke.
The other minor complaint I have comes from trying to clean the mixer paddle. If you haven’t made bread yet, you’ll find out quickly that fresh, hot bread turns into a crouton very quickly. Unfortunately for the breadmaker, this means that the mixer paddle gets bread-cemented onto its mixing post. So, removing the paddle for cleaning can sometimes be impossible…I sometimes turn a blind eye to it, and just leave it dirty.
I received this breadmaker as a gift for Christmas 2008 and I LOVE it. I have never owned a breadmaker before so I cannot give you a side-by-side via experience. However, I can tell you that one of the things my Mother used to have trouble with timing the addition of fruits and nuts (gets distracted, misses the beeps, you may know this story…). This bread machine takes care of that because it has a little “drop in” tray that can be used when “fruit & nuts” are selected for any cycle (but you still have to remember to select…not 100% idiot proof I found through experience
).
Thus far, we have used it to make cinnamon rolls, pizza dough, sourdough bread, cinnamon-raisin bread and oatmeal-wheat bread with nuts. I am planning to get the caraway seeds and rye flower necessary for rye bread soon. I no longer buy bread at the store. All of the recipes have been out of the little book that comes with it thus far. It’s pretty simple…add ingredients in order, make a little hole for the yeast, select cycle (don’t forget fruit & nuts!) and go.
After reading other reviews that mention the pan jumping around I am a little concerned that this may become an issue. I have had this happen once before but I probably have 15-20 uses in at this point and everything seems to be okay.
Again I say…LOVE IT!
Breadman TR2500BC Ultimate Plus 2-Pound Stainless-Steel Convection Breadmaker I have had a breadman breadmaker for the past 13 years and a few months ago it finally gave out on me. I loved my breadmaker and tried to find one just like it but could not, it was discontinued.
I reasearched breadman and found this one. I was actually looking for a horizontal breadmaker but when I got this one and tried it, I was sold. This is the best breadmaker ever! I don’t have to worry about when to add extras, it does it for you and it is so easy to use. My family says the bread is even better. I am sold once again on my Breadman product. I would not buy any other kind of breadmaker. I found many that were priced lower but I did not like the looks or the features. After using my breadmaker for a month, I am very happy with it. Though I was not sold when I first got it, I thought it was a horizontal one, this vertical won has won me over. I give this product 5 stars because it is really worth it!
My last Breadman was a vertical, much better. On second use It stopped kneading. The nut came off from the pulley. When advising Breadman They seamed not to care. For the price you expect better quality.
Love it! Makes great bread everytime. Have had it for 8 months now and use it probably two, three times a week. Easy to clean, looks great on your counter (although I put mine away in the cabinet when I’m not using it). Buy it and begin to dazzle your friends and family with fresh, wholesome bread! GET IT!!!
This was bought for our daughter-in-law (our son just enjoys the results). The report we have had back - from our son - is that it made a very good loaf of bread. As we were back in the UK before it was tried, we can’t testify.
I purchased this breadmaker for my sister. There was a problem with it so she called the Breadman company. They told her to cut of the power cord and send it to them and she will receive a new machine. She got a used discontinued model that was dirty and smelled like cigarette smoke. She’s been calling the company since January and they have yet to send her a replacement. AVOID THE HEADACHE…DO NOT BUY A BREADMAN!!!
easy to use and bakes a nice loaf of bread. You may want to adjust the moisture content a little. First couple of loves were kinda dry. Just add more liquid (trial and error).
We use it all the time. I have never made bread before and it is easy with this machine. Great price.
I am so pleased with this product! This is my first Bread Machine,so I did quite a bit of researching but I became so overwhelmed with all the reviews from various sites, however I finally settled for this machine, as the price was right and I wouldn’t feel at such a lost if the product didn’t live up to my expectations or didn’t work as some reviewers had experienced. It arrived just in time for Easter and I made my own Hot Cross Buns, which all of my family liked, the first barch didn’t even get the iced cross. I now use this approx. 3 times a week and I’m very happy with it, even the recipes that came with the machine came out perfect. My only issue is the display panel can be a little difficult to read depending on light conditions - hence the 4 stars. Great machine!
This machine was so great while it lasted. I almost always used the dough setting and shaped and baked the loaves myself. I was baking about 2 lbs of bread every 3 weeks or so. It was delicious and so simple. The numbers are hard to read, but that was a small price to pay.
However, after about 9 months of use, I find my machine no longer mixes the dough properly. In my last 3-4 batches, the dough did not mix well and bubbled over the sides. I still use the machine to start off the process but have to pull it out mid-cycle and knead it by hand. What a mess. Only slightly more convenient than doing it myself. I say, spend the extra money and get a bread machine that will last you. Now I have to figure out if its worth it for me to invest in a new one.
My Mother purchased this machine for us as a Christmas gift. We’ve been using it for some time now and couldn’t be more happier with it. My boyfriend has become a bread making maniac. He’s been quite creative using oatmeal, whole flours, and even sourdough in this machine and they have all come out so nicely. Even using recipes that are for traditional “oven” breads, he just throws the ingredients in, sets the time, and forgets it. Some modifications to recipes have been made, but that’s the fun of it. We’ve since stopped buying bread from the store and making it fresh once or twice a week now. It’s more affordable and you can control the ingredients. A nice feature it has is the programmable time, so you don’t have to bake immediately. It’s nice to wake up on a weekend morning to fresh baked bread while your still in bed. Also, the loaf pan is lateral so it looks much nicer and is easier to deal with than the “tube” style of most other machines. It has become a permanent fixture on our counter and we couldn’t be more pleased with it’s performance.
This Melitta doesn’t get any positive reviews, because out of two orders, I never received the Melitta. Only a Breadman bread machine that sells for $18.00 less than what I paid for the Melitta on Amazon. Not to mention, I paid full price for a new Melitta and was sent a USED Breadman machine. After the hassle of returning it and asking Amazon to send me a new Melitta like I originally ordered, I was sent a Breadman again! I returned this machine as well and am still waiting on my full refund.
I love this breadmaker. However, because of the shape - check the corners for flour residue. Just scrape with a spatula in the beginning.
It does make great bread with the crust you want.
I have had this bread machine for about 2 weeks now and have used it at least 10 times. Before that, I never baked a loaf of bread in my life, so I have nothing to compare it to. But I have been very satisfied with the machine so far. Like others have said, if you like a light crust, you won’t be able to acheive that by baking in the machine, but I like a chewy crust so it’s not a problem. I have made several types of bread and also pizza dough and everything has come out nicely. Operation is very easy and so is cleanup. My machine is heavy and does not move on the countertop as others have experienced.
My only quibbles with the machine are that it does not reveal the steps in the cycles — either on the display or in the manual. You just have to trust that it knows what it’s doing. Also, I got the machine to save money on bread, but how can you save money when you’re constantly making loafs and giving them away to friends and neighbors??? OK, maybe not the machine’s fault. Overall I am happy with my purchase and recommend this machine.
I have had this bread maker for at least 3 years now and it’s still going strong. I don’t use it everyday but when I do, it’s mostly used for making dough.
I make my own cinnamon rolls and yeast rolls so the dough setting is excellent because it does all of my kneading for me. All I have to do is dump the dough out and roll it out for by cinnamon rolls (or form the dough for the yeast rolls). It’s an excellent workhorse even when working with the heavy, thick doughs.
It’s really durable too. I’ve learned that you might want to put a non skid pad or dish towel underneath it because the agitating action when it’s kneading makes the machine move. Mine actually walked itself right off the countertop to my horror, but kept right on mixing. When I picked it up it was completely fine and has worked just fine ever since. (That was a year ago.)
I’ve known people who have purchased this and used it every single day to keep fresh bread in the house. The rate that I use it (roughly once a week) this machine should be just fine years and years from now.
I was lucky, I got this for $11 at a auto garage that had a bunch of refurbished items like this in the back, on sale around x-mas, 2006. It makes a much better crust and loaf than the Sunbeam model 5891, which I just bought from amazon. The sunbeam is ok, but I dont like the ridges in the pan, and the texture of the bread didnt seem as fluffy as the breadman. Overall, the breadman seems better, but the cheaper Sunbeam is a good value for just getting out some bread.
I bought this bread machine as a replacement for my 10-15 year old “Toastmaster Bread Box” machine which finally gave out. The new machine works well. All the loaves I’ve tried have turned out very well, and have tasted very good. The bread pan is a lot lighter weight than the Toastmaster pan, but I cannot tell if it makes any difference.
The “Super Rapid” setting is great! It actually bakes a good loaf in 59 minutes. To use this feature, the included recipes call for lots of Super QuickRise or RapidRise yeast (like 6 teaspoons). The super rapid white bread came out a little too chewy for my taste, but the raisin bread was great.
The machine comes with an instruction manual that contains 7 Super Rapid recipes, and 2 regular recipes. An extra recipe book contains about 20 additional bread and dough recipes.
